Message From the Director
Some people ask why HR, why Human Resources Management? It’s a discipline yes, but it’s a discipline that deals with people, and within the public service our goal, our objective is to ensure that all of our employees are valued. We want to ensure that they receive the most attention, the best attention, and most of all that once they take up an opportunity within the public service its one that they can value, cherish and move forward with much positiveness and creativity. It’s with this regard that the HR department of the public service is proud to launch new products, new initiatives which are geared to motivate, encourage and overall secure our place within this organization as an organization, as a department that values people that believes in their growth, believes in their success, and are willing to ensure anything to that end as it relates to our most valuable assets; our people. It is through the love of people that we do the work within this organization. It is not about how much money an individual can make or it’s not about what’s the title of their job as it is about what value they bring to the organization, and most importantly how much as an HR department or how much as a public service do we give back to the individual. So the new public service for 2008 and beyond, it’s not about jobs, it’s not about salaries, it’s not about benefits. It’s about people, it's about their career, their choices, their abilities, and our overall ability to play a role in developing that individual. That’s why within HR we are always guided by our vision of providing effective HR leadership and support for a World Class Public Service.
